Vase Making & Flower Arranging Workshop

Combine two amazing actvities in one: Make your own statement piece vase and then learn how to arrange flowers in it! This course is split over two days: On the first day (21 September) you will spend up to six hours creating your vase using various handbuilding techniques. The format of the day will run as follows: 10.00 - 13.00 After some instruction you will choose your clay and design your vase and with our guidance start building your vase 13.00 - 13.30 Pause for lunch 13.30 - 16.30 Finish building and decorating your vase ready for firing. Your vase will be bisque fired by us and then glazed in either white or transparent glaze. During the second day (12 October), you will learn how to arrange flowers in your vase. This is a two hour session running from 10am to 12.00pm, and led by friend of The Clay Room Maria Elena Oberti. You will take home both the flowers and the vase and of course the skills, and knowledge to make both! The course will be taught in English. The price includes all materials and firing costs. Drinks and cake will be provided, but it would be nice if all participants brought a dish to share for the lunch break. Maximum participants: 8 Get to know our guest instructor: A writer and former interior designer, Maria has been in love with flowers for as long as she can remember. She began experimenting with bouquet making and flower arrangements more seriously in the summer of 2023 while between writing jobs. Over the last year, she has been honing her floral design skills with the goal of turning her flirtation with flowers into a blooming side business.

Cancellation Policy

Unfortunately these one-off classes are only refundable up to 7 days before the date of the workshop. After this point the workshop cannot be refunded, but it can be transferred to a friend as long as notice is given before the class commences.
