*PLEASE NOTE DUE TO HOLIDAYS THIS COURSE IS ONLY 7 WEEKS INSTEAD OF USUAL 8* This wheel course is a great introduction to making ceramics on the potters wheel.  Or improving your skills as a follow up course. During this course you will learn how to make simple forms, and alter them to become cups, bowls or vases, trim them for a professional finish and glaze them to make then food safe. The rough course outline is a follows: Week 1 -  Preparation of your clay, centering your clay and learning to pull up the walls Week 2 - Mastering cylinders/bowls Week 3 - Trimming your pieces for a professional finish, adding handles Week 4 - Throwing  Week 5 -  Throwing Week 6 -  Trimming Week 7 -  Glazing If you have already followed a beginners course, but wish to continue learning and practicing, then these courses will also allow you the freedom to do that.  The instructor will be on hand to advise and guide you, allowing you to perfect your throwing skills. This course is suitable for beginners. If you have already mastered the basics then you will be challenged to make some bigger and better things to continue your wheel throwing journey. The class is 2.5hrs long which includes clean up time. The course includes tuition, clay, glaze and firing costs (a maximum of 7 pieces will be fired) Good to know: You will get dirty so please wear clothes (and shoes) you dont mind getting dirty. Also throwing with long nails is very tricky, so best to keep your nails short.
